Air Pollution: Here because of transportation many gases are being produced. The vehicles run with the help of energy which is produced from burning of fossil fuels like carbon, coal and petroleum. The gases which are released will pollute the air and cause respiratory diseases. No rainfall occurs because of deforestation which leads to the water shortage. Even the poisonous gases like carbon monoxide CO causes respiratory diseases by contaminating the air. Because of this pollution the ozone layer gets depleted and ultra violet rays fall directly on the earth’s surface which may result in many diseases.
Noise Pollution: Noise Pollution is due to horns and engines. Noise Pollution distracts our concentration, and makes us deaf. Construction of the vehicle creates noise by using large machines and even the operation also makes noise.
Soil Pollution: Soil pollution occurs because of erosion. Digging the soil for construction of the roads creates erosion. Even the coastal areas are made into ports which also creates erosion. Removing the mountain tops for constructing high ways also results in erosion.

Sounds weird! Doesn’t it? Why would any one want to abuse a gentleman? They are so good humans around, and they behave so well.

But gentlemen are not always good to have. I identified the problem few days back when they started troubling my routine life. They are a big nuisance for us when they are roaming around you when you are with your family or girl friend. Two irritating dialogues they pose to me at that instance are “Why don’t you behave like a gentleman?” or “Just learn from him”. Now you know why anybody wants to abuse a gentle man.

Its not a big deal to abuse a gentleman, they are so vulnerable. And it is so easy to take their gentleness away from them within no time. Try these……..

Jump suddenly into pool of water on road when he is passing it.
Play an old leg-interruption trick, make sure he falls.
Laugh at him all of a sudden and laugh till two persons start laughing with you and just escape from the scene.
Imitate all his actions and make sure he is watching.
Make friendship with him. Either you become a gentleman or he becomes you.

No physical or verbal abuses please! It will push you into severe trouble.

Differences between Formal and Informal Social Control

Social control refers to social mechanisms that regulate individual and group behavior, leading to conformity and compliances to the rules of a given society or social group.

Formal social control is expressed through law as statutes, rules, and regulations against deviant behavior. Government and organizations using law enforcement mechanisms and other formal sanctions such as fines and imprisonment conduct it. In democratic societies the goals and mechanisms of formal social control are determined through legislation by elected representatives and thus enjoy a measure of support from the population and voluntary compliance.

Informal social control denominates customs, traditions, norms and other social values inherited by the individual. It is exercised by a society without explicitly stating these rules and is expressed through customs, norms, and mores. Informal sanctions may include ridicule, sarcasm, criticism and disapproval. In extreme cases sanctions may include social discrimination and exclusion. This implied social control usually has more effect on individuals because they become internalized and thus an aspect of personality. Traditional society uses mostly informal social control embedded in its customary culture relying on the socialization of its members to establish social order. More rigidly structured societies may place increased reliance on formal mechanisms.

As with formal controls, informal controls reward or punish acceptable or unacceptable behavior (i.e., deviance). Informal controls are varied and differ from individual to individual, group to group and society to society. For example, at a women’s institute meeting, a disapproving look might convey the message that it is inappropriate to flirt with the minister. In a criminal gang, on the other hand, a stronger sanction would be applied in the case of someone threatening to inform to the police.

There is no doubt that every one of us will be stuck to the YV sets when the academy awards are being given to the nominees. The major academy awards are given out at a live televised ceremony, most commonly in February or March following the relevant calendar year, and six weeks after the announcement of the nominees. This is an elaborate extravaganza, with the invited guests walking up the red carpet in the creations of the most prominent fashion designers of the day. Black tie dress is the most common outfit for men, although fashion may dictate not wearing a bowtie, and musical performers typically do not adhere to this (the artists who recorded the nominees for Best Original Song quite often perform those songs live at the awards ceremony, and the fact that they are performing is often used to promote the television broadcast). The Academy has for several years claimed that the award show has a billion viewers internationally, but this has so far not been confirmed by any independent sources. Neither has the Academy explained how it has reached this figure.

The Academy Awards is the only awards ceremony televised live across the United States excluding Alaska and Hawaii; the Emmys, Golden Globes, and Grammys are broadcast live in the East Coast, but they are on tape delay in the West Coast.

The Awards show was first televised on NBC in 1953. NBC continued to broadcast the event until 1960 when the ABC Network took over, televising the festivities through 1970, after which NBC resumed the broadcasts. ABC once again took over broadcast duties in 1976; it has contracted to do so through the year 2014.

How Weird Is Chinese Food?

I was there for the Olympics this year in world’s most populated country. They really did a great job in organizing such a mega event. The budget is vast for the country because it is still a developing one. It is rich of its ancient traditions and culture.

Entire trip was great except my problem with a bet from my cousin that I should try only Chinese food till I left China. That was really challenging which I got to know only after I started acting accordingly.

It was horrible when I saw shrimps were still moving in my plate. First, I thought it was a joke. But soon I understood that it is their traditional dish.

It was equally horrible when I came to know about many other such weird dishes. Some of them which I escaped trying were dog meat, silk worms, Cow’s all those inner stuff like lungs, wind pipe, Duck’s tongue, etc. And the weirdest of those was the scorpion dish, appears in full body.

So next time you visit Chinese, do remember to order only vegetarian.

Take care of time-consuming tasks. Writing Christmas cards, wrapping gifts, boxing up presents to mail why wait until December to attend to these time-consuming details?
Fill your freezer. Each time you cook, double, or even quadruple the recipe and freeze the extra portions. During the hectic weeks before Christmas, having heat-and-eat meals in the freezer will be a lifesaver.

Forbes pays tribune to these personalities every year by listing the most earning but dead celebrities. Every time I look at those figures, I feel bad. God has given them everything money, fame but not life. This list often raises some spirit in us saying that having life is more important than money and fame. But there are so many people who say that living a small celebrity life is very great compared to living a big but ordinary life.

Elvis Presley, the king of Rock and roll is the famous and topper of the list who earned $52 million without lifting a finger. Then the list follows with Justin Timberlake with $44 million, Madonna $40 million.

It is estimated that only 13 of the top personalities in the list earned as much as $194 million combined in last 12 months. Now it is our dilemma whether to believe or not that we are really in economic crisis.
