Asphalt shingles: They are widely used to cover the roof of majority houses in America. They are relatively inexpensive and available in different colors and types. Easy and simple to install. Two types of asphalt shingles are organic and fiberglass. They cannot last for many years.

Metal roofing: Roofs are constructed using different metal roofing materials such as aluminum, steel, copper, galvanized steel, etc. They are durable and can last for about 50 years. They are light weight and require little or no maintenance. They are available in different patterns, colors and styles.

Wood shakes: They offer natural look and can be used in contemporary style of construction. They can be easily installed and repaired. They can last long only if properly maintained. Wooden roofs are more prone towards rotting, mildew and molds.

Slate roofing: This material is well known for long lasting and durable nature. They are highly expensive and extremely heavy in weight. They can last for generations.

Concrete roofing: They are manufactured with a variety of fiber reinforced cement products. They are lightweight and extremely durable. Expensive compared to other roofing types.
