There are various types of dental braces from metal to ceramic braces, also from tooth colored braces to clear braces. The dental braces are also called as orthodontic braces that are common among teenagers as well as for adults. The following are different types of dental braces.
Metal Braces:
These braces are most commonly used ones. Any orthodontist can provide this type of braces. These are made up of the high grade stainless steel. These are common in teenagers and adults because of the different colored modules which are used to tie the wire onto the braces. This braces system involves the brackets which are glued to each of the tooth.
Invisalign Braces:
These braces are invisible to straighten the tooth without wire and brackets. This system uses a series of custom that made clear aligners to move teeth gradually over the time. In this each aligner is manufactured individually with exact calculations to gradually shift the teeth into the place. This can be removed for brushing and flossing the teeth.
Lingual Braces:
These braces are attached behind the teeth so that they will be not visible when you smile. These braces are more expensive when compared to traditional metal braces but the advantages are apparent.
Ceramic Braces:
These are not as visible as the metal braces; also these are not as strong as the metal braces, but look great on teeth. These are little more expensive than the metal braces. These are less noticeable brackets and they are translucent so that they blend with your natural teeth color. These braces are designed in such a way so that they won’t strain or discolored over long periods of time.
Self-Ligating Braces:
These are low friction bracket systems and they are less painful when compared to conventional braces and they move the teeth faster. It reduces the number of visits to the dentist and need for extractions and also overall treatment time. This will be available in metal as well as ceramic.
